We highly recommend TSA precheck or Global Entry!
We travel overseas at least a couple times a year so we opted for Global Entry. Included with Global Entry is TSA Precheck for several major airlines. Upon reentry to the US you bypass the passport control lines and use a kiosk instead.
You can also just apply for TSA Precheck.
