Always be respectful and courteous!

Wherever your travels may take you the most important tip we can pass on is to be respectful and courteous.  If you are these two things you will make lifelong friends along the way.  Once you form the friendship during your travels, social media will help you stay in touch.  

We force ourselves to learn 'PLEASE' and 'THANK YOU' in the local language.  When they see you are trying they will open up to you.  We try to learn short phrases too but it is not always easy depending on the language.   

Always respect THEIR culture.  Learn as much as you can about the local culture before you go.  This will aid you in refraining from doing anything disrespectful in their eyes.
