Takes lots of notes!

Take a little notebook along or use the notes app on your phone and take as many notes as possible.  When we get home we put the notes together to relive the holiday.  
A year or two after the trip details start to get fuzzy.  We enjoy looking back at our notes and reminiscing.  

Another great idea is to do a photo-book with both your notes and your photos.  We like to do daily notes and then refer to photos and places.  This way when we get back we have more clarity about the trip.
