TRAVEL TIP OF THE DAY - LEARN TO CONVERT - 3.8.2017 TRAVEL TIPS

It is really important when you are traveling overseas to understand the metric system!

Most countries are on the metric system.  Instead of miles you will see kilometers, instead of pounds - kilograms, and so on.  Knowing how to convert will help you understand things better.

Take for instance, you are booking your flight on a foreign airline and it notes that the weight of your carry-on bag can only be a maximum of 10 KG.  It is really important that you understand the maximum weight because they can refuse the bag or make you pay absorbent fees if you are over the weight limit.  If you know that 10 KG is about 22 pounds then you know where you stand.

TIP:  Always travel with a luggage scale.
Check out our travel essential list at http://travelingmovesme.com/travel-essentials

At the bottom of our website www.travelingmovesme.com you can download a file called "Learn to Convert".  You will learn the easy way to convert.

Example:  To convert Kilometers to Miles use this equation.

Kilometers / 2 + 10% = miles (10% of the original Kilometers)
100 / 2 = 50 + 10% = 60 (so 100 Kilometers is about 60 miles)
The actual is 62.13712 but you can see how close the equation gets you.
